3.
DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM OR FUNCTION - Preparation of a cross section library for the code BOXER from a basic library in ENDF/B format.
4.
METHOD OF SOLUTION - According to the recommendations in the ENDF/B manuals: M.K. Drake: Data formats and procedures for the ENDF cross section library, BNL 50274 (T-601) (October 1970) and ENDF 50496 (October 1979). ENDL-102.
5.
RESTRICTIONS ON THE COMPLEXITY OF THE PROBLEM - Only the formats until ENDF/B-5 can be treated. ETOBOX is not adapted to ENDF/B-6. The gamma-part of ENDF/B is not treated.
6.
TYPICAL RUNNING TIME - On a SUN SPARC station 5: between a few seconds for a simple problem (for instance: group constants of C-12 at 0 K) to 3000 sec (U-238 with approx. 23000 lethargy points for the resolved resonances).
7.
UNUSUAL FEATURES OF THE PROGRAM - All the variables, including the integers, must be represented in 64 bit words.
8.
RELATED AND AUXILIARY PROGRAMS - ETOBOX is the library preparation code of the ELCOS system for the quasistationary modeling of LWR. Some subroutines are stored on the subroutine library LWRLIB. ETOBOX needs the data from a basic cross section library like JEF-1 or ENDF/B-5.
9.
STATUS 10.

OPERATING SYSTEM UNDER WHICH PROGRAM IS EXECUTED - On CYBER: NOS/VE. On SUN: SOLARIS.
14.
OTHER PROGRAMMING OR OPERATING INFORMATION OR RESTRICTIONS - Before
compiling ETOBOX, the recommendations given in Appendix A.7 (page A.17) of the ETOBOX user's manual (PSI Bericht 96-02) should be taken into consideration.
