This expert group was set up to conduct a study, the main objective of which is to provide a comprehensive overview of issues raised by the transition from thermal to rapid neutron systems. The study's focus is on issues of interest to policy makers. The scope of the study will focus on issues relevant during transition periods including the evolution of mass flows, management of fissile materials and lead times for the implementation of alternative strategies.
